Dates Ongoing
Imagine the joy of knowing you've helped to provide a home, a nursery and a sanctuary, for a clutch of Eastern Bluebirds or other cavity-nesting birds. Imagine watching the hatchlings grow and begin to test their wings. Imagine watching the fledglings take first flight. This is the rewarding feeling experienced by volunteers participating in SoFo's Bluebird Recovery Project.
The Bluebird Recovery Project is one of the strongest volunteer-based programs across the nation. The main goal of this program is to increase nesting habitat for Eastern Bluebirds and many other species of cavity-nesting birds. This habitat was lost due to land development and competition from non-native, more aggressive starlings and House Sparrows. You can be an active member of this recovery project. To become involved contact us by e-mail at sofo@hamptons.com or by phone at (631) 537-9735. The SoFo Bluebird Recovery Project is currently funded by an Anonymous Donor whose mission is to see the reestablishment of healthy populations of native wildlife on the East End of Long Island. If you know of any foundation, corporation or individual whose priority is to support the well-being of native wildlife populations, please contact us at sofo@hamptons.com.
SoFo Bluebird Recovery Project Success Continues --- You can be a part of this ornithological triumph!
